Making roads and highways kinder to their surroundings as they pass through urban centres is a challenge that administrations are beginning to prioritise. The EU’s urban development policies and 2030 Agenda and the Spanish government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan have aligned in order to place an emphasis on actions that enable infrastructure and citizens to coexist in environments that are greener and more human.

Ineco has taken another step towards digital transformation in drawing up projects, applying the BIM methodology and integrating it into a GIS (geographic information system) environment in the management of the Villamartín de la Abadía-Requejo section of the Ponferrada-Orense A-76 highway construction project, which it is drafting for the General Directorate of Roads, part of the Ministry of Public Works.
