Since 2010, Taleb Rifai has been the secretary-general of the UNWTO, whose headquarters have been in Madrid for four decades. Born in Jordan in 1949, he has a Bachelor’s degree in architecture from Cairo University, and a PhD in urban design from the University of Pennsylvania (USA) in 1983.
