Ineco has completed a feasibility study for the Egyptian government for what, starting in 2026, could be the country’s first high-speed line. The project covers more than a thousand kilometres connecting the capital city of Cairo with Luxor, Aswan and Hurghada, on the shores of the Red Sea, at a speed of more than 230 kilometres per hour. The study was based on the design of the line at a scale of 1:25,000, a demand study and a socio-economic and financial profitability analysis.

The railway integration works that Adif has begun with the collaboration of Ineco will transform the urban environment of León and prevent delays caused by the cul-de-sac design of the existing temporary station. The project includes the building of a tunnel for a one-kilometre-long section of track, the construction of a pedestrian walkway, and the restoration of the canopy of the old station.

This coming 20th April will see the 25th anniversary of the opening of the first high-speed line in Spain, the Madrid-Seville AVE. The date is a landmark in railway history, as it is the day a new system was implemented with advanced technology which enabled new standards of comfort, quality, journey times and safety to be reached that had until then been unthinkable.

Renovation work on Toledo’s historic railway station undertaken by Adif in 2015 was completed this summer. Ineco drafted the project and was responsible for managing the construction management, including refurbishment of the roof, façades and the tower, among other elements.

With the new Commuter station at Mirasierra, located between the Pitis and Ramón y Cajal stations, residents of Fuencarral–El Pardo will have an integrated service on line 9 of the Madrid Metro. Ineco collaborated in its design and construction.
